What to Expect
...and other FAQs

You do not need to be present when I photograph your products. You can ship them to me, drop them off, or arrange for pickup if you are local to the New York Capital Region.

When appropriate, all products are returned to the client after the final images are delivered. Some products, such as food  & beverage or beauty & skincare, may be opened to showcase the contents and/or texture of the product. These kinds of products cannot be returned.

My number one tip is “Be comfortable with your wardrobe choice!” If you have an established brand color palette, perhaps wear items with similar or complementary colors. Layers and textures look great, and accessories are also good for adding your personality and brand story. For more tips, read this post.

I strongly recommend putting together a few props and tools of your trade that are relevant to who you are and what your business is all about. For example, an artist might have a set of their paintbrushes, a flower farmer may have bouquets of fresh cut blooms, a baker may have an assortment of fresh baked goods. There are lots of possibilities for how to tell your story through portraits and portrait details. Need a little help and inspiration while planning for your session? Check out my Pinterest Page and the Resources section of the website for ideas.

Your branding images are a representation of you and your work. While we aim for authenticity, you want to look your best to make your brand truly shine. Clutter on a desk and overly messy backgrounds will take away from your final images. Please spend a little bit of time organizing and tidying up before my arrival so that we don’t waste precious time during the photo session doing this.

If the weather calls for rain or other inclement weather, I will contact you to reschedule. I will do my best to provide more than 24 hours notice.

Photo proofs are lightly edited images uploaded to a gallery at a low-resolution size. They are not the final edited images.

You won’t have to wait long to get your session proofs for a Portrait Session and The Creative’s Space Storytelling Session. I provide lightly edited proofs of the best images within one week of the photo session.  Session proofs will be shared via a private online gallery link from which you’ll choose your favorite images. These favorites will be edited even further as your final edited set of images.

For all other sessions, unless you request otherwise, final images are thoughtfully chosen for you.

Final images and/or videos are carefully edited to provide you with quality visual assets for your business. Depending on the number of final deliverables, the turnaround time can range from 1-6 weeks. Rush delivery of your final images may be available for an additional fee.

YES! You can purchase extra images that were not included in your package. I provide clients the option of purchasing additional images as single add-ons or in sets of 5.

That means the final images you get from our session(s) together are yours to use in order to grow your business, increase your sales and market your services. Use them in your newsletters, social media, and website. If you have questions about Licensing or need ideas to maximize the use of your photos, I can help.

Please make sure before booking that you are ready to make the commitment to invest in quality images for your business. All photography sessions require a 50% initial payment. In the case of a cancellation by client, 20% of the total investment cost is non-refundable.

Workshop registrations are non-refundable unless the class is cancelled. In the case of inclement weather for outdoor workshops, a rain date will be provided.

YES! While product photography and brand packages have been put together to meet the most common needs of creative entrepreneurs and emerging brands, you are not limited to these offerings. Please don’t hesitate to get in touch with details of your particular needs and wants.
